Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a senior Fund Operations leader to oversee private and hedge fund activities, including commingled vehicles and direct investments. You will manage capital activity, relationships with vendors and custodians, and support regulatory reporting and board presentations.

The role requires 8–12 years in fund operations within alternatives, strong analytical and communication skills, and a proactive, detail-oriented mindset to drive process improvements and vendor SLAs across offices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Masters/Advanced Degree preferred.
  • 8-12 years Fund Operations experience.
  • Experience working with alternative funds – Hedge Funds and Private Equity.
  • Vendor contract negotiation experience.
  • Management and creation of vendor service level agreements.
  • Superior analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Superior written and oral communication skills.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and provide strategic leadership for private and hedge fund operations, including commingled vehicles and direct investments.
  • Lead and strengthen relationships with fund vendors and custodians, ensuring high client service and SLA adherence.
  • Oversee capital activity for private fund vehicles, including capital calls, distributions, subscriptions, redemptions, and related activity.
  • Evaluate and document end-to-end alternative fund operations workflows and processes.
  • Manage and develop three fund operations colleagues across offices.
  • Participate in the Firm’s Valuation Committee and support fair valuation and SEC regulatory compliance determinations.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and facilitate accurate regulatory reporting with compliance and legal teams.
  • Lead presentations with Fund Boards and prepare board presentation materials.
  • Oversee and organize fund launches, mergers, and closings in coordination with legal and internal teams.
  • Collect and document process enhancement requests from internal business stakeholders.
  • Execute ad hoc projects and strategic initiatives with Private Client, Institutional Sales and Service, Technology and Infrastructure.
  • Advocate for clients and the firm through vendor contract and service-level negotiations.
