Job summary

The American Heart Association is seeking a Development Director, School Engagement, to lead fundraising efforts and school partnerships across the northern half of West Virginia. This field-based role requires extensive travel and home‑based work with daily school visits.

You will drive Kids Heart Challenge and American Heart Challenge programs, manage data in CRM systems, and collaborate with educators and districts to expand reach. Flexible hours and training support are provided.

Qualifications

• 3 years of fundraising, sales, or related experience.
• Reliable daily local travel with own transportation.
• Home office friendly with field work.
• Strong data management and reporting using CRMs and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Meet fundraising goal of $275,000 through volunteer recruitment and engagement.
• Recruit and engage students through schools and districts in Kids Heart Challenge and American Heart Challenge.
• Build relationships with teachers, principals, and district leaders.
• Provide excellent customer service to volunteers and partners.
• Manage and update CRM and other databases with accurate information.
• Handle high-volume school interactions daily, in-person or via phone/online.
