Job summary

American Heart Association is seeking a Development Director, School Engagement to lead fundraising efforts and drive school-based programs across Santa Clara County, Alameda, and Santa Cruz. This field-based role requires extensive travel and flexible hours to coordinate with schools and events.

Responsibilities include recruiting students, implementing classroom activities, and building relationships with educators while managing data in CRM systems and Microsoft Office products.

Qualifications

• 3 years of fundraising, sales, or related experience.
• Ability to travel locally across service areas with reliable transportation.
• University degree or equivalent experience.
• Ability to work from home and in the field per flexible work policy.
• Strong communication and proactive collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Recruit and engage students through schools and districts in Kids Heart Challenge programs.
• Implement classroom challenges, activities, and assemblies to engage students.
• Develop relationships with teachers, principals, and district superintendents.
• Provide outstanding customer service with volunteers and collaborators; plan kickoff meetings.
• Maintain and update CRM databases and Microsoft products.
• Handle high-volume account management with 5-10 schools daily, in person or by phone.
