Job summary

The American Heart Association is hiring a Development Director, School Engagement to drive fundraising and school-based programs across the northern half of West Virginia. This field-based role requires extensive travel and home-office flexibility to support K-12 schools and events.

Responsibilities include recruiting volunteers, managing accounts, and delivering Kids Heart Challenge and American Heart Challenge programs with a focus on health education and activity for students.

Qualifications

• 3 years of relevant experience in fundraising, sales, or related field.
• Ability to do daily local travel; reliable transportation.
• University/College degree or equivalent experience.
• Work from home-office and in the field with flexible hours.
• Proactive communication and independent work style.
• Experience with data management and CRM reporting.

Responsibilities

• Meet fundraising goal of $275,000 through volunteer recruitment and engagement.
• Recruit and engage students in Kids Heart Challenge and American Heart Challenge.
• Implement classroom challenges, activities, and assemblies (in-person and digital).
• Develop relationships with teachers, principals, and district superintendents.
• Maintain CRM and Microsoft product data; manage high-volume school accounts.
