Job summary

VizzaLights LLC of Jacksonville, FL, is seeking an experienced Full-Charge Bookkeeper to build a strong financial foundation from the ground up. You will manage full-cycle bookkeeping, establish policies and internal controls, and produce essential financial reports.

You will partner with ownership and the CPA to ensure accurate records, budgeting, and tax filings, while developing cost-tracking systems for projects and procurement.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of bookkeeping/accounting experience required.
• Full-Charge Bookkeeper experience preferred.
• Proficiency with QuickBooks Online or similar software.
• Experience with financial reporting, reconciliations, budgeting and cash-flow management.
• Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills.
• Ability to develop or improve accounting procedures and internal controls.
• Excellent attention to detail and organization.
• Ability to work independently and communicate financial information clearly.

Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle bookkeeping including A/P, A/R, general ledger, reconciliations, and month-end close.
• Develop and document accounting policies and procedures.
• Establish internal controls and documentation standards.
• Prepare P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow and other management reports.
• Assist ownership with budgeting and cash-flow forecasting.
• Develop job-costing systems for materials, labor, project costs, and profitability.
• Coordinate payroll-related records with ADP.
• Maintain records for sales tax, 1099s, W-9s, and audits.
• Collaborate with CPA for tax filings and year-end reporting.
• Organize financial information across systems.
• Identify weaknesses and propose practical solutions.

About VizzaLights

VizzaLights is a growing permanent exterior lighting company serving residential and commercial customers. As a startup with ambitious plans for expansion, we are looking for an experienced Full-Charge Bookkeeper to help us build a strong financial foundation from the beginning.

This is not simply a transactional bookkeeping position. We need someone who can maintain accurate books while also developing the financial policies, procedures, controls, and reporting systems needed to help a growing company succeed.

What You’ll Do

• Manage full-cycle bookkeeping, including A/P, A/R, general ledger, bank and credit card reconciliations, customer deposits, vendor payments, and month-end close
• Develop and document accounting policies and procedures
• Establish internal financial controls, approval processes, and documentation standards
• Prepare P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, A/R, A/P, and other management reports
• Assist ownership with budgeting, cash-flow forecasting, expense management, and financial planning
• Develop job-costing systems to track materials, labor, commissions, project costs, gross profit, and installation profitability
• Coordinate bookkeeping and payroll-related records with ADP, our payroll provider
• Maintain organized records for sales tax, 1099s, W-9s, insurance audits, and other compliance needs
• Work with the company’s CPA to prepare accurate records for tax filings and year-end reporting
• Help organize financial information across accounting, banking, CRM, payroll, and document-management systems
• Identify financial or operational weaknesses and recommend practical solutions

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years of bookkeeping/accounting experience preferred
• Full-Charge Bookkeeper experience strongly preferred
• Strong knowledge of QuickBooks Online or similar accounting software
• Experience with financial reporting, reconciliations, budgeting, and cash-flow management
• Strong Excel and/or Google Sheets skills
• Experience developing or improving accounting procedures and internal controls
• Exceptional attention to detail and organization
• Ability to work independently and communicate financial information clearly
• High level of discretion with confidential financial information
• Startup, construction, home-service, installation, or rapidly growing small-business experience is highly desirable. Experience working with ADP is a plus.
