Job summary

Houston Ballet in Houston, TX is seeking a Ticketing Services Associate to supervise the box office team in support of the box office and Audience Services Manager. They will assist in daily operations and front-of-house coordination during performances, with evening and weekend work aligned to the season schedule.

Responsibilities include supervising opening/closing duties, training staff, event setup, and acting as liaison with patrons and venue staff to ensure exceptional service.

  • Support Ticketing Services Management in a supervisory position to delegate tasks to team members and disseminate Marketing department information
  • Provide ongoing feedback and direction regarding workflow of the Box Office as projects are assigned
  • Support Box Office Management with onboarding and training new Customer Service Representatives
  • Assist in event setup and strike of marketing collateral specific to each performance or designated Houston Ballet event
  • Act as a liaison between Houston Ballet, its patrons and the venue management team during performances
  • Support Box Office Managers, Audience Services Manager and Marketing staff as needed in executing special projects

Summary

The Ticketing Services Associate will be cross-trained and responsible for supervisory duties of the box office team in support of the Box Office Managers and the Audience Services Manager. They will assist in the daily and business operations of the Box Office as well as the duties and responsibilities assisting with front of house and audience services coordination and operations during performances. This position requires evening and weekend work, in sync with the season performance schedule and adaptability to shift between various functions as needed.

Work a pre-arranged schedule that coincides with Box Office hours: (Monday through Friday from 8:45 am to 5:00 pm).

When Houston Ballet is in performance, the Box Office hours will be: Monday – Saturday from 8:45 –6:00pm, Sunday 11:30am – 6:00pm, with extended hours through the weekend and evenings

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Fulfills opening and closing duties of the Box Office as assigned which may include, but are not limited to; opening the ticket center, access to the safe, managing the cash drawer, securing the Box Office space after the closing shift, enforcing Houston Ballet policy and procedures
  • Support Ticketing Services Management in a supervisory position to delegate tasks to team members and disseminate Marketing department information from the Box Office Managers and Audience Services Manager
  • Provide ongoing feedback and direction regarding workflow of the Box Office as projects are assigned
  • Support Box Office Management with onboarding and training new Customer Service Representatives

  • Support Box Office Managers, Audience Services Manager and Marketing department staff as needed in executing special projects at either the Houston Ballet’s Margaret Alkek Williams Center for Dance, the box office at the Wortham Theater Center or off-site venues and events.
