Job summary

CHRISTUS Health in San Antonio, TX is seeking a Surgical Technologist to assist in preparing and caring for pre-operative patients. You will prepare the skin, maintain aseptic technique, and transport patients to the OR, setting up tables, instruments, and supplies for each case.

Under nurse supervision, you will scrub multiple specialty areas, pass instruments, and assist the surgeon, all while ensuring a safe and compliant operative environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Completion of the Surgical Technology program or an accredited LVN/LPN program is required.
• 2 or more years of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Under the direction of a professional nurse, performs all processes that relate to the delivery of direct patient care in the OR prior to and during any surgical procedure.
• Establishes and maintains the sterile field, passes instruments, and sutures to the physician, and assists as directed by the physician.
• Maintains a safe environment by implementing technical and aseptic practices.
