Job summary

CHRISTUS Health in Texas seeks a Surgical Technologist to assist in preparing pre-operative patients and maintaining sterile technique in the OR. You will transport patients, position them for surgery, and handle instruments and supplies as directed by the physician.

Under supervision, you will scrub in multiple specialty areas, ensure a safe sterile field, and support the surgical team while adhering to Universal Barrier Precautions and hospital policies. Full-time, daytime hours.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of the Surgical Technology program or an accredited LVN/LPN program required.

Responsibilities

• Under the direction of a professional nurse, performs all processes that relate to direct patient care and assistance in the OR prior to and during procedures.
• Maintains aseptic techniques and sterile field; passes instruments and suture materials to the physician.
• Scrubs multiple specialty areas and supports the surgical team as needed.
• Ensures proper decontamination, processing, and sterilization of instruments and supplies.
