Job summary

CHRISTUS Children's in San Antonio, TX is seeking a Surgical Technologist to assist in preparing and caring for pre-operative patients. Under the supervision of a professional nurse, you will scrub, set up the sterile field, pass instruments, and help ensure patient safety during surgical procedures.

You will work across multiple specialty areas, contribute to aseptic technique, and support the OR team with equipment and supplies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Completion of Surgical Technology program or accredited LVN/LPN program is required.
• BLS certification required; Certified Surgical Technologist or LVN/LPN license within 180 days of graduation is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Under the direction of a professional nurse, perform all processes related to direct patient care in the OR prior to and during surgery.
• Scrub for multiple specialty areas and assist with instrument passing and suturing as directed.
• Establish and maintain the sterile field and ensure adherence to aseptic practices.
• Prepare the OR by setting up tables, instruments, and supplies according to case type.
• Work effectively as a team member to support patient safety and efficient case flow.
