Job summary

CHRISTUS Health in San Antonio, TX is seeking a Surgical Technician to support pre-operative care and sterile technique in the operating room, under nurse direction.

The role requires a High School diploma, completion of the Surgical Technology program or LVN/LPN program, and BLS; 2+ years' experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of Surgical Technology program or LVN/LPN program required.
• BLS certification required.
• Certified Surgical Technologist within 180 days of graduation or LVN/LPN license required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patient skin and maintains aseptic technique.
• Maintains sterile field, passes instruments, and assists the physician.
• Transports patients and positions them for surgery as needed.
• Supports operating room setup according to case type and facility policy.
