Job summary

Jovie is seeking a Back-up Nanny to support families in the Lake Forest area. You will care for children in-home, with flexible scheduling, on-call shifts, and no required transportation duties beyond your own travel to families’ homes.

Availability on 3+ weekdays between 7 am and 7 pm is preferred. Earn $20–$22/hour on a W-2, with paid training, sick time, and opportunities for advancement within a supportive childcare team.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children, paid or unpaid, with infant experience preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old and have reliable transportation.
• Willingness to travel to multiple homes in the area.
• Available 3 or more weekdays for 6–8 hour shifts between 7 am and 7 pm.
• Excellent communication with staffing supervisor and families.

Responsibilities

• Care for children in-home; you are not required to transport children.
• Limit duties to basic tidy-up of activities or meals with the child.
• Support families needing care for infants through toddlers; highest demand under age 2.
• Engage children with safety and age-appropriate, hands-on activities.

As a Back-up Nanny, You Will

• Care for children in-home, but you will not be required to transport children
• No household duties other than common sense clean-up of your activities or meals with the child
• Support families who need care for children ranging from infants through toddlers. Highest demand for care for children under the age of 2!
• Engage children by providing safety and leading hands-on activities based on your observations of the children’s age-appropriate development

About You

• At least 18 years old
• Experience working with children, paid or unpaid, infant experience mandatory
• Reliable transportation
• Your willingness and ability to travel to various homes throughout the area
• You are available any 3 or more weekdays for 6 - 8 hour shifts between 7 am and 7 pm
• Commitment to be communicative and responsive to the staffing supervisor and a bright smile to greet each family!
