Job summary

Fairview Health Services in North Branch, MN is seeking a Full Time Medical Laboratory Technician for the Urgent Care Laboratory at M Health Fairview Clinic. The MLT will perform waived to high complexity testing, follow SOPs, and ensure quality control in an ambulatory setting.

The role supports specimen collection, operates instruments, and communicates critical results to care teams. Candidates must meet CLIA qualifications, hold an accredited laboratory degree, and obtain applicable

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in a related laboratory field with practicum or equivalent for moderate complexity testing per CLIA’ 88.
• Diploma or transcript showing field of study in chemical/biological/medical lab science; or equivalent.
• 60 semester hours with biology and chemistry; transcript required.
• 50-week U.S. military medical lab training plus degree/credits; transcript required.

Responsibilities

• Obtain specimens following SOP and perform waived to high complexity testing.
• Operate and maintain laboratory instrumentation and information systems.
• Verify patient identity and specimen integrity prior to testing.
• Communicate abnormal/critical results to care team and document findings.
• Follow safety, QA, and compliance programs; participate in performance improvement.
