Job summary

Fairview Health Services seeks a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) for multiple M Health Fairview Clinic sites in Andover, Elk River, Rogers, and Bass Lake. The role includes varied shifts, weekend coverage at Urgent Care sites, and potential floating to nearby clinics.

The MLT performs waived to high‑complexity testing under SOPs, ensuring specimen integrity, patient ID accuracy, QC and instrument operation.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology as required for moderate complexity testing per CLIA’88.
• Degree or transcript documenting required coursework; multiple pathways acceptable as listed in the ad.
• ASCP/ASCPi/AMT/AAB-MLT certification within 1 year and BLS within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Follows SOPs to perform waived, moderate, or high complexity testing.
• Collects and processes specimens with proper technique and patient identification.
• Operates lab instrumentation and information systems per procedure; maintains equipment and supplies.

Education

Associate degree or higher in Laboratory Technology or related field

Clinical laboratory science or medical laboratory technology

60 semester hours with 6 biology and 6 chemistry

Experience with CLIA moderate/high complexity testing

ASCP/ASCPi/AMT/AAB - MLT credential within 1 year

BLS certification
