Meriwether Godsey is seeking a Full-time Line Cook at Sweet Briar College, Amherst, VA to prepare, cook, and present daily meals and special events. The role runs Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri 7a-3p and Wed 12:30p-8p with a pay range of $16-$18 per hour.

Responsibilities include batch cooking, from-scratch methods, and accurate production logs, while upholding HACCP and safety standards. Qualifications include culinary degree or 3+ years of experience, strong leadership, and reliable transportation.

Qualifications

• Culinary Degree or minimum 3 years of culinary experience.
• Experience with high-volume food service, preferably in school environments.
• High level of professionalism and leadership.
• Excellent communication and good organizational skills.
• Flexibility to switch locations and duties.
• Growing knowledge of sustainable practices.
• ServSafe Certification preferred.
• Reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Ensure quality and timeliness of food production with batch cooking.
• Use traditional made-from-scratch methods and keep logs.
• Collaborate with staff to incorporate ingredients into recipes daily.
• Assist in transporting, setting up, garnishing, and breaking down stations.
• Maintain quality and perform tasks quickly and efficiently.
