Job summary

Burton Center For Disabilities & Special Needs is seeking a full-time House Assistant to support adults with disabilities across three residential homes. The position emphasizes safety, dignity, and person-centered care with regular hours Monday–Friday 8:00am–5:00pm and on-call as needed.

You will assist with daily living tasks, train Direct Support Professionals, and coordinate schedules and appointments, ensuring compliance with state and federal policies while maintaining respectful

Qualifications

SC Driver's License required.
Able to lift or maneuver up to 50 lbs.
At least 1 year of leadership, customer service, or similar experience.
Able to pass SafeServ Food Handler course.
Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Able to stand or walk for long periods.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

Perform routine safety checks in three residential homes.
Restock groceries and personal hygiene supplies.
Assist individuals on shopping trips, appointments, and budgeting.
Train and support Direct Support Professionals to implement Individual Support Plans.
Create staff schedules and model best practices in care and teamwork.
Communicate with families in a warm, professional manner.
Complete online progress reports, goals, and daily notes on time.
Maintain compliance with Burton Center, federal, and state policies.
