Job summary

Amedisys is one of the nation's leading home health and hospice providers. We are seeking a Hospice Aide for full-time daytime shifts to support patients in Passaic/Bergen, Essex/Union, and Hudson counties.

You will deliver compassionate personal care, assist with activities of daily living, and document patient status under the supervision of a nurse. Responsibilities include safety-focused care, meals and nutrition support, light homemaking, and communicating any changes to the care team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current state certification as a nurse assistant (CNA).
• CNA experience within the last two years.
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation and liability insurance.

Responsibilities

• Provides personal care services to patients.
• Applies safety principles and proper body mechanics during care techniques.
• Plans and prepares nutritious meals and assists with feeding.
• Performs homemaking and environmental services as assigned.
• Observes, reports and documents changes in patient's status and reports to the primary nurse.
