Job summary

AMEDISYS HOME HEALTH seeks a hospice aide to provide compassionate in-home patient care across Bergen, Hudson, Passaic, Essex and the top of Union counties. You will work with a nurse to deliver personal care, monitor status, assist with meals and daily activities, and document changes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current state CNA certification/registration.
• CPR certification.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation with liability insurance.

Responsibilities

• Provides personal care services to patients.
• Applies safety principles and body mechanics for activities such as ambulation, transfers, positioning, and light homemaking.
• Plans and prepares nutritious meals and assists with feeding.
• Performs homemaking and environmental services as assigned.
• Observes and reports changes in patient status to the nurse.
• Follows written instructions from a registered nurse.
• Assists with prescribed exercises as directed by nurse or therapist.
• Performs simple urine tests for sugar, acetone, and albumin.
• Other duties as assigned.
