Job summary

Amedisys Hospice is seeking an attentive hospice aide to deliver compassionate in-home care within Bergen, Hudson, Passaic, Essex, and parts of Union counties. The role focuses on personal care, meal assistance, and supporting patients in their home environment.

Responsibilities include observing patient status, following nurse instructions, and documenting changes, while maintaining safety and dignity for each patient. Competitive pay and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• CNA experience within the last two years.
• Current CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Provides personal care services to patients.
• Applies safety principles and proper body mechanics to ambulation, transfers, ROM and positioning, and household chores.
• Plans and prepares nutritious meals, assists with feeding.
• Performs homemaking and other environmental services as assigned.
• Observes, reports, and documents changes in patient status; report to the primary nurse.
• Follows written instructions from a registered nurse for personal care.
• Assists patients with prescribed exercises as instructed by a nurse or therapist.
• Performs and records simple urine tests for sugar, acetone, and albumin.
• Other duties as assigned.
