Job summary

Vanguard College Prep is seeking a full-time English educator to teach and inspire small groups, promoting long-term understanding and top scores on college readiness exams.

The role requires a humanities degree from US schools (Master’s preferred), teaching experience in English, strong verbal skills, and proficiency with MS Office and G-Suites. Flexible schedule includes weekday evenings and weekend hours.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a humanities field from US Schools; Master’s or higher preferred.
• Teaching experience in English and/or college-level Writing Center (1+ years).
• Demonstrated academic excellence (3.5+ GPA).
• Strong verbal skills and mastery of the English language.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and G-Suites.
• Reliable internet connection and quiet workspace.

Responsibilities

• Teach and Inspire: Instruct small groups of students in English core skills for long-term understanding and top college readiness exam scores (ACT & SAT).
• Track Growth: Monitor student progress through Vanguard’s multi-phase curriculum with individualized growth opportunities.
• Manage and Model: Maintain lesson schedules, ensure assignments are completed, and model professionalism and organization.
• Innovate: Develop and update engaging lesson plans and curriculum.
• Mentor: Guide middle and high school students through the college application process.
