Job summary

Vanguard College Prep is seeking a full-time English educator to teach core English skills to middle and high school students, preparing them for ACT/SAT success and college readiness. The role emphasizes individualized growth within Vanguard’s multi-phase curriculum and requires a commitment to professional, organized teaching.

The ideal candidate will have a humanities degree with teaching experience, strong English proficiency, and proficiency in MS Office and G-Suites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a humanities field (English, Creative Writing, Journalism, Publishing) (Master’s preferred)
• Teaching experience in English or college-level writing center (1+ years)
• Demonstrated academic excellence (3.5+ GPA)
• Strong verbal skills and mastery of English
• Proficiency with MS Office and G-Suites
• Reliable internet and quiet workspace
• Commitment to specified Hours of Operations

Responsibilities

• Teach small groups of students English core skills for college readiness (ACT & SAT)
• Track students’ progress through Vanguard’s curriculum
• Maintain and update student lesson schedules and communications
• Develop and implement engaging, evolving lesson plans
• Mentor middle and high school students through the college application process

Education
