Lifeguard Ambulance Service in Prestonsburg, KY is seeking a Dispatcher for a full-time position. Starting at $14/hour, you will respond to emergency and non-emergency calls for ambulance and transportation services, assign and route transportation requests, and communicate clearly to ensure quality support and care for our customers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year EMS or public safety dispatcher experience, or minimal medical/telecommunications training.
• Skilled in reading and writing English.
• Ability to record, transmit, and report information accurately.
• Able to efficiently utilize all equipment and handle multiple tasks.
• Good typing speed and accuracy.
• Familiarity with basic computer applications.

Responsibilities

• Understands and applies Emergency Medical Dispatch concepts as a minimum standard of care.
• Allocates EMS resources using rules and approved protocols.
• Ensures paperwork is complete and accurate before shift end.
• Performs shift data entry and State Run Report data entry as assigned.
• Generates reports and checks for accuracy.
• Assists in locating incidents and selecting safest routes using locator aids.
• Relays instructions and maintains knowledge of company policies.
• Follows established service-request formats.
• Responsible for equipment knowledge and use (computer, printers, 911 equipment, etc.).
