Job summary

AMR Hawaii is hiring a Communications Specialist to respond to emergency and non-emergency calls for ambulance and transportation services. You will assign and route transportation requests and provide clear, professional communication to support patients, providers and facilities.

Varied day and night shifts require organization, multitasking and precise documentation of communications. A high school diploma or GED and some dispatch or customer-service experience are required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and respond to calls and emails using the established system to deliver excellent customer support to providers, facilities and member representatives.
• Schedule, assign, review and route transportation requests.
• Document communications following protocols and identify issues as necessary.
• Communicate trip data including confirmations, routing time, issues and performance.
• Collaborate with allied health and public safety personnel and coworkers.
• Demonstrate organization, multitasking and time management.
• Work varied shifts Day and Night.
