Job summary

American Medical Response in Aiea, HI is seeking a Communications Specialist to respond to emergency and non-emergency calls for ambulance and transportation services. You will assign and route transportation requests and provide clear communication to ensure quality support for our customers.

We value the ability to monitor calls and emails, document communications, and work varied shifts day and night. A high school diploma and dispatch or customer service experience are preferred.

Communications Specialist – Emergency and Transportation Services

Location: Aiea, HI

Hourly Rate: $24.40 per hour

We’re hiring a Communications Specialist who will respond to emergency and non-emergency calls for ambulance and transportation services. This person assigns and routes transportation requests and provides clear communication in all situations to ensure quality support and care for our customers.

Responsibilities

• Proficiently monitor and respond to calls and emails, using established call handling time and the communication and information management system to deliver excellent customer support to providers, facilities and member representatives.
• Schedule, assign, review and route transportation requests using appropriate methods.
• Document communications following protocols and processes, properly identify and, when necessary, elevate issues.
• Effectively communicate trip data including confirmations, routing time, issues and performance.
• Collaborate professionally with allied health, public safety personnel and coworkers.
• Demonstrate organization, multitasking and time management skills.
• Work varied shifts – day and night.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Some work experience, preferably in dispatch or routing calls in customer service.
