Job summary

Dorsey College seeks a Full-Time Electrical Technician Instructor to deliver high‑quality instruction across multiple courses in the Electrical Technician Program. You will ensure students acquire hands‑on skills aligned with NEC standards and safety practices, while coordinating with the Lead Instructor on outcomes and program improvements.

Responsibilities include planning lessons, conducting labs, assessing student progress, and supporting enrollment efforts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Four years electrical trade experience minimum.
• Experience teaching or mentoring is a plus.
• Broad knowledge of electrical technician subjects.
• Completion of an electrical trade program is helpful.
• Michigan Journeyman license is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Deliver lectures and hands-on labs per the approved outline.
• Connect theory to real-world electrical work for students.
• Collaborate with Lead Instructor on outcomes and sequencing.
• Demonstrate techniques, NEC code, and safety practices.
• Prepare labs, inspect equipment, and maintain order.
• Assess student work and provide timely feedback.
• Support enrollment, retention, and job placement efforts.
• Maintain records and communicate program needs to leadership.
• Stay current with trade knowledge and teaching methods.
