Job summary

Dorsey College in Roseville is seeking an Electrical Technician Lead Instructor to guide the Electrical Technician Program, delivering high-quality instruction across multiple subjects and providing campus-level oversight. You will mentor fellow instructors, support curriculum development, supervise labs, and ensure safety and standards while maintaining a motivating and inclusive classroom.

This full-time role requires deep electrical trade knowledge, teaching experience, and leadership skills,

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum five years of electrical trade experience.
• Working knowledge across electrical technician subjects.
• Teaching or mentoring experience is helpful but not required.
• Completion of a recognized electrical trade program is helpful but not required.
• Michigan Journeyman Electrician License is helpful but not required.
• Background check completed per college policy.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver classroom lessons and hands-on labs across multiple course subjects.
• Demonstrate electrical techniques, troubleshoot, safe work practices, NEC and industry standards.
• Prepare materials and maintain a safe, organized lab.
• Evaluate student work and provide timely grades and feedback.
• Lead, mentor, and support instructors; coordinate class coverage and scheduling.
• Work with the Program Director on course sequencing, materials, assessments, and program improvement.
• Use online tools to organize courses, communicate with students, and maintain attendance and grades.
• Support enrollment, retention, and job placement efforts.
