Heart Havens Inc. is seeking a full-time Direct Support Professional (DSP) for our Varina/Richmond area home in Virginia.

The role focuses on empowering adults with developmental disabilities, assisting with daily living activities, meal preparation, and community engagement. The DSP will support residents in planning events, managing health protocols, and ensuring safety within a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred; 6 months DSP experience required.
• 1 year DSP experience in a DD residential setting preferred, or 2 years with a consistent job history.
• Must maintain required certifications: TOVA, Medication Administration, and First Aid/CPR/AED.

Responsabilités

• Provide support to residents per ISP and health plans.
• Supervise residents in program and community, never leave them unsupervised.
• Assist with daily living activities and meal preparation.
• Administer medications according to procedures and 6 Rights of Medication Administration.
• Complete accurate daily documentation and incident reports.
• Maintain confidentiality and respect residents' rights and dignity.
• Transport residents in Heart Havens vehicles when needed.
• Attend monthly staff meetings and participate in drills.
