Acas Inc is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) in Manassas Park, VA to provide compassionate support to individuals with developmental disabilities. You will assist with daily living activities, promote independence, and help with community integration.

You will document progress, collaborate with families and staff, and participate in ongoing training to enhance care quality. A willingness to learn and adapt is essential to succeed in this role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; relevant experience preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
• Compassionate and patient demeanor with a commitment to helping others.
• Experience in a direct support or caregiving role is a plus.
• Must pass background checks and obtain necessary certifications.
• Reliable transportation to travel to client locations.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to individual client needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities.
• Assist with daily living activities, including meal preparation and hygiene.
• Facilitate community integration and social activities.
• Document and report on client progress and needs.
• Encourage and promote independence among clients.
• Collaborate with team members and families to develop care plans.
• Maintain a safe and supportive environment for all clients.
