Heart Havens is hiring a Full-Time Direct Support Professional (DSP) for the Tate/Ashland home in VA. The role supports adults with developmental disabilities to live full, vibrant lives, assists with daily activities, and helps plan trips and community involvement.

You will work as part of a caring team, upholding dignity, safety, and individualized ISP plans. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED and at least 6 months of DSP experience; 1 year in a DD residential setting is

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred; at least 6 months direct support experience required.
• 1 year direct support experience in a DD residential group home preferred, or 2 years in DD with a consistent job history.
• Must have or obtain certifications: TOVA, Medication Administration, and First Aid/CPR/AED.

Responsabilités

• Provides ISP-based support and follow Health protocols.
• Supervises residents and ensures safety in home and community.
• Assists with Activities of Daily Living and transports residents as needed.
• Administers medications per procedures and the 6 Rights.
• Documents daily notes, incidents, and health changes promptly.
• Supports residents to engage in community activities and exercise choice.
• Completes monthly resident meetings and activity calendars.
