Job summary

Dominion Care in Powhatan, VA seeks an In-Home Direct Support Professional (DSP) to assist individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in achieving independence and community engagement.

You will support daily living, monitor health, and coordinate with families and providers, while maintaining safety and professional boundaries. Full-time and part-time options, with competitive pay and benefits, are available.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• At least 1 year of experience working with individuals with disabilities
• Valid driver’s license in good standing
• Reliable transportation with valid car insurance

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with learning to be more independent and meet their goals across daily activities.
• Provide personal care and ADL support (baths, oral care, dressing, grooming) where needed.
• Monitor health and safety, manage medications when applicable.
• Support community engagement, transportation, shopping, and social activities.
• Document progress toward goals and maintain records including timekeeping.
