Job summary

AVI Foodsystems is seeking a Cook at University of Mount Union in Alliance, OH. This full-time role covers Sundays 9:00 AM–7:30 PM, and Mondays through Thursdays 12:15 PM–8:15 PM, with Fridays and Saturdays off. Join a campus dining team focused on quality, service, and consistency.

You will prepare hot and cold items, maintain kitchen safety, and help design daily menus with the team. Prior cooking experience and strong food-safety knowledge are required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years cooking experience
• Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and safety practices
• Exceptional food presentation skills

Responsibilities

• Please customers by providing a pleasant dining experience
• Assemble, cook ingredients
• Maintain a sanitary kitchen
• Attend to the detail and presentation of each order
• Place and expedite orders
• Prepare ingredients by following recipes; slicing, cutting, chopping, mincing, stirring, whipping, and mixing ingredients
• Complete hot meal preparation by grilling, sautéing, roasting, frying, and broiling ingredients and assembling and refrigerating cold ingredients
• Adhere to proper food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures
• Maintain appropriate dating, labeling, and rotation of all food items
• Stores leftovers according to established standards
• Contribute to daily, holiday, and theme menus in collaboration with the team
