Job summary

AVI Foodsystems is hiring a Cook for the University of Mount Union in Alliance, OH. This full-time role features Sunday 9:00 AM to 7:30 PM and Monday–Thursday 12:15 PM to 8:15 PM, with Fridays and Saturdays off.

Responsibilities include preparing ingredients, maintaining a sanitary kitchen, and collaborating on daily menus with a team that values energy and a family culture. A minimum of 2 years cooking experience is required, along with safety and presentation skills.

Qualifications

• 2+ years cooking experience in food service.
• Strong knowledge of cooking methods and food safety practices.
• Excellent food presentation skills.
• Familiarity with kitchen equipment and appliances.
• High energy and strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Please customers by providing a pleasant dining experience.
• Assemble, combine, and cook ingredients.
• Maintain a sanitary kitchen.
• Attend to the detail and presentation of each order.
• Place and expedite orders.
• Prepare ingredients by following recipes; slicing, cutting, chopping, mincing, stirring, whipping, and mixing ingredients.
• Complete hot meal preparation by grilling, saute9ing, roasting, frying, and broiling ingredients and assembling and refrigerating cold ingredients.
• Adhere to proper food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures.
• Maintain appropriate dating, labeling, and rotation of all food items.
• Stores leftovers according to established standards.
• Contribute to daily, holiday, and theme menus in collaboration with the team.
