Job summary

AVI Foodsystems is seeking an energetic Cook for University of Mount Union in Alliance, OH. This full-time role runs Sundays 9:00 AM–7:30 PM and Mondays–Thursdays 12:15 PM–8:15 PM, with Fridays and Saturdays off.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years cooking experience, strong food prep and presentation skills, and a team-driven work ethic. You will assemble, cook, and plate meals, maintain a sanitary kitchen, follow recipes, and ensure correct dating and rotation of all food items.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of cooking experience required.
• Strong knowledge of cooking techniques and safety sanitation.
• Exceptional food presentation skills.
• Familiarity with kitchen equipment and appliances.
• Energetic, team-spirited with strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Provide customers with a pleasant dining experience.
• Assemble, combine, and cook ingredients.
• Maintain a sanitary kitchen.
• Attend to the detail and presentation of each order.
• Place and expedite orders.
• Prepare ingredients by following recipes; slicing, cutting, chopping, mincing, stirring, whipping, and mixing.
• Complete hot meal preparation by grilling, sautéing, roasting, frying, and broiling and refrigerating.
• Adhere to proper food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures.
• Maintain dating and rotation of all food items.
• Store leftovers according to established standards.
• Contribute to daily, holiday, and theme menus with the team.
