Job summary

Whitney Oaks Care Center is seeking a dependable Full-Time Cook to prepare nutritious meals for residents in a healthcare setting. You will follow physician orders and dietary guidelines, working closely with the Dietary Services team to support residents’ health and comfort.

Responsibilities include following menus, maintaining food safety standards, and collaborating with nursing staff to ensure quality meals and positive resident experiences.

Qualifications

• Previous cooking experience required; healthcare, skilled nursing, or senior living experience preferred.
• Food safety and sanitation guidelines knowledge.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong teamwork, communication, and organizational skills.
• Reliable attendance and commitment to resident satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals according to approved menus and recipes.
• Ensure proper food preparation, portioning, and presentation.
• Follow all sanitation, food safety, and infection control procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment, workstations, and storage areas.
• Monitor food temperatures and maintain production records.
• Assist with inventory and proper storage of food and supplies.
• Work collaboratively with dietary staff, nursing staff, and leadership.
• Provide excellent customer service to residents and guests.
