Atlanta Technical College (ATC) invites qualified applicants for a Full-Time Administrative Assistant (BPST) in the Academic & Student Affairs division, Business and Public Service Technologies department. The role supports payroll, scheduling, and daily operations at ATC's Main campus, south of Downtown Atlanta.

The ideal candidate has a High School Diploma or equivalent with 6 months of related work experience; preferred is an Associate degree and 3+ years of experience in higher education.

Qualifications

  • Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent and six months of related work experience.
  • Preferred: Associate degree or higher in Business Administration, Communication Office Technology, Organizational Management, or related field.
  • Experience with payroll, scheduling, or academic operations is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, verify and submit bi-weekly payroll for full-time and adjunct faculty, ensuring accuracy.
  • Track faculty load sheets, adjunct contracts, and staff timesheets.
  • Assist with building semester course schedules, room assignments, course modality updates, and faculty teaching loads in Banner.
  • Coordinate schedule changes, cancellations, and substitutions; communicate updates to faculty, students and staff.
  • Develop and maintain organizational systems to improve workflow, documentation, and communication across the division.
  • Create templates, trackers, and digital forms to streamline recurring tasks.
  • Support events, advisory board meetings, and faculty meetings, including scheduling, preparing agendas, taking minutes, and following up on action items.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for students, faculty and external partners.

Job Description

Atlanta Technical College (ATC) is seeking highly qualified applicants for its Full-Time Administrative Assistant position in the Academic & Student Affairs division, Business and Public Service Technologies department. This position is located at Atlanta Tech's Main campus just south of Downtown Atlanta. Under the general supervision of the Dean of Business & Public Service Technologies, the Full-Time Administrative Assistant (BPST) position provides administrative, operational, and customer service support in the Division of BPST. This position is central to ensuring accurate payroll processing, efficient course scheduling, smooth daily operations, and consistent communication with students, faculty, staff, and external partners. The ideal candidate is a quick learner, works effectively with minimal supervision, thrives under tight deadlines, and brings strong technology skills and a solution-oriented mindset to a fast-paced academic environment.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Prepare, verify and submit bi-weekly payroll for full-time and adjunct faculty, ensuring accuracy.
  • Track faculty load sheets, adjunct contracts, and staff timesheets.
  • Assist with building semester course schedules, room assignments, course modality updates, and faculty teaching loads in Banner.
  • Coordinate schedule changes, cancellations, and substitutions; communicate updates to faculty, students and staff.
  • Develop and maintain organizational systems that improve workflow, documentation, and communication across the division.
  • Create templates, trackers, and digital forms to streamline recurring tasks.
  • Support events, advisory board meetings, and faculty meetings, including scheduling, preparing agendas, taking minutes, and following up on action items.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for students, faculty and external partners.
  • Handle phone calls, emails, and in-person inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Maintain and update database related to student records, course schedules, and faculty information.
  • Ensure data integrity and confidentiality.
  • Assists with special projects and initiatives as directed by the program coordinators, and Performs additional duties, as assigned.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and database management.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Oral and written communication skills.
  • Skill in interpersonal relations and in dealing with the public.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Must possess and demonstrate a High School Diploma or equivalent AND six (6) months of related work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate degree or higher in Business Administration, Communication Office Technology, Organizational Management, or related field.
  • Three (3) or more years of administrative work experience.
  • Experience supporting payroll, scheduling, or academic operations.
  • Experience in creating systems, templates, or processes that improve efficiency.
  • Familiarity with Banner, DegreeWorks, or LMS platforms (Blackboard, D2L), or similar systems.
  • Experience working in higher education.

May be required to work at other locations and other locations within the community.
