Job Description

Atlanta Technical College (ATC) is seeking highly qualified applicants for its Full-Time Associate Dean of Cyber and Related Technologies position in the Academic & Student Affairs division, Business and Public Service Technologies. This position is located at Atlanta Tech's Main campus just south of Downtown Atlanta. Under the general supervision of the Dean of Business and Public Service Technologies, the Full-Time Associate Dean of Cyber and Related Technologies will be responsible for actively working with division faculty, deans, and EVPAA as part of the Academic Leadership Team. The Full-Time Associate Dean of Cyber and Related Technologies will play a pivotal role in ensuring the success of the Cyber and Related Technologies Department. The department includes Computer Programming AAS, Cybersecurity AAS, Database Specialist AAS, Networking Specialist AAS, as well as embedded diplomas and technical certificates of credit. With a keen eye for opportunity and a commitment to excellence, this position will foster an environment where students and faculty alike can thrive and achieve their fullest potential.

Duties and responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to, the following:
  • Effectively teach and facilitate learning, utilizing a variety of delivery modes and learning theories.
  • Assist with orientating and observing new instructors as well as training current instructors.
  • Determine the staffing needs with the CIS department and manage the recruitment, evaluation, and ongoing support of all faculty and academic staff positions with the department.
  • Provide and coordinate support, guidance, and direction to students with registration, attendance, advisement, and career counseling.
  • Coordinate the ongoing assessment and evaluation of departmental student learning and program outcomes.
  • Maintain existing partnerships and community relationships and establish new collaborative working relationships with community organizations, business and industry partners, and educational institutions relevant to the department programs; proactively promote innovative partnerships to meet workforce needs.
  • Work to ensure consistent exercise of college and TCSG academic policies, procedures, rules, regulations and other criteria or guidelines across all campuses.
  • Manage and oversee financial/ budget operations of the CIS department.
  • Assist faculty in addressing all aspects of verifying program learning outcomes, including identification, review, revision, measurement and analysis of said outcomes.
  • Coordinate with the Dean to assist faculty in attainment and continuance of program-specific accreditation under assigned supervision.
  • Work with program faculty on curriculum review processes; recommends relevant curriculum changes, program additions, and program terminations to the Dean.
  • Participate in, as needed, all program enrollment, registration, drop/add, withdrawals, etc.
  • Compile program statistics such as enrollment, retention, graduation, and placement rates to ensure program viability.
  • Serve on appropriate college standing and ad hoc committees.
  • Work with the college’s web master to ensure program information on the web page is accurate and up to date.
  • Work with the Dean in handling personnel issues; and Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Must possess and demonstrate the following: Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Information Systems from a regionally accredited college or university.
  • Industry Certifications (Comp TIA, C++, CISCO, CISSP, AWS).
  • Documented leadership skills.
  • College teaching and/or corporate training experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Four (4) or more years of relevant industry experience and/or teaching experience in a higher education setting.
  • Experience with curriculum development and review.
  • Experience with program advisory committees.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Master's degree *and* Two (2) years of teaching or supervisory experience in a post-secondary institution.
