Job summary

Peregrine Senior Living is seeking an energetic Activities Assistant to engage residents in meaningful programs and enhance their active aging experience. You will lead varied activities, promote participation, and tailor plans for memory care and assisted living residents.

Requirements include a High School Diploma and at least three years in adult recreation. We offer a supportive team, flexible hours, and a comprehensive benefits package in the greater Albany, NY area.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum three years’ experience working with adult recreation.

Responsibilities

• Lead assigned activity programs for residents and enhance their lives.
• Provide diversified recreational activities with supervision for each activity.
• Develop programs for residents, including those confined to their rooms.
• Engage and motivate residents to participate in activities.
• Inform residents of upcoming activities and maintain a current event schedule.
• Assist in planning parties, decorating the community for seasons/holidays.

$16 - $17.50 per hour - based on experience

Activities Assistant.

Activities Assistant Responsibilities include:

This role leads assigned programs that are of interest and meaning to our residents to enhance their lives and exceed their active aging lifestyle expectations.

• Basic knowledge of Alzheimer's Disease and related Dementia’s required.
• Experience in and knowledge of senior living, including Assisted Living, Memory care, and Enhanced Assisted Living preferred.
• Leads assigned activity programs.
• Offers adequate and diversified recreational activities to residents with sufficient supervision for each activity.
• Develops programs for residents including, if applicable, programs designed for residents confined to their rooms.
• Engages and motivates residents resulting in program participation.
• Informs residents of upcoming activities and maintains a current schedule of events on the bulletin board.
• Greets new residents making a special effort to include and engage them in activities and introduce them to others in the community with similar interests and backgrounds.
• Assists in planning parties and activities as well as decorating the community according to the season and/or holiday throughout the year, as well as planning monthly birthday parties to honor residents.

Activities Assistant Education & Experience:

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required
• Minimum three (3) years’ experience working with adult recreation
