Job summary

Bain & Company in Chicago seeks a skilled Full Stack Software Engineer to join the PEG Innovation team. You will work across the stack—React and Svelte frontends, TypeScript, and backend services in Python/Node.js—building AI-enabled features that empower private equity insights.

You’ll own features end-to-end, write tests, and collaborate with Product and Design, with deployments to Azure and AWS in a hybrid work model.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
• 2 to 5 years of professional web and backend development experience.
• Experience with TypeScript frameworks (React and/or Svelte) and tests for shipped work.
• Backend APIs and services in Python (FastAPI) or Node.js (TypeScript).
• Relational databases and migrations; comfortable across a polyglot codebase.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain full-stack features with React/Svelte frontends and Python/Node backends.
• Design RESTful contracts, evolve PostgreSQL schemas, and write safe migrations.
• Integrate AI features, retrieval-augmented generation, and vector search into workflows.
• Collaborate with Product and Design; write tests and ensure production quality.
