Job summary

IBM Consulting is seeking an Application Engineer - AI and Python to design, test, deploy, and evolve AI-enabled software that delivers value to users and supports IBM’s hybrid cloud and AI mission.

The role is based in IBM Consulting Client Innovation Centers and involves translating business requirements into AI-first designs, validating AI specs, and building secure, scalable solutions with DevSecOps integration. Strong Python, TypeScript, React, and SQL/NoSQL skills are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• Experience with front-end and back-end web technologies.
• Experience with AI-enabled development practices is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with clients to translate requirements into AI-first technical designs.
• Validate OpenAI specifications and generate modular code following IBM standards.
• Apply AI-enabled peer review, testing agents, and synthetic data for multiple testing levels.
• Build DevOps scripts and pipelines; integrate security testing into DevSecOps.
