Job summary

Spade is seeking a Full Stack Engineer to own product experiences end-to-end, building customer-facing interfaces in React and TypeScript and Python/Django APIs. You’ll craft data models and platform services powering the enrichment platform, operating on a small, high-ownership team.

You’ll influence usability, performance, and reliability for hundreds of millions of transactions and collaborate across the stack, bringing a product mindset and autonomous execution in a fast-growing fintech

Qualifications

• 4+ years of software engineering experience building and shipping production systems in fast-paced environments.
• Strong background with Python, Django, React and TypeScript.
• Experience with API development, SQL, and modern front end frameworks and technologies.
• Experience building customer-facing systems from scratch, making trade-offs, and executing autonomously in early-stage environments.
• A product mindset and strong problem solving skills, with the ability to navigate ambiguity and focus on delivering customer value.
• A collaborative mindset, fostering a culture of shared success and continuous improvement.
• Based in NYC with ability to work out of our Flatiron office at least 2 days/week.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate on our technical vision to build a product customers love.
• Build and maintain customer-facing product experience across React/TypeScript on the frontend and Python/Django on the backend.
• Develop and maintain low-latency, massively-scalable developer facing APIs and a robust data platform supporting our data science team.
• Partner with the team to own and improve our engineering best practices and help us scale by keeping our processes effective.
• Debug production issues across all levels of the stack.
• Bring a strong collaborative approach to deliver value to customers and internal stakeholders at Spade.
