Job summary

Kenney Industries in Dallas, TX is seeking a dependable Full-Charge Bookkeeper to own day-to-day accounting operations within a manufacturing-focused environment. The role covers AR, AP, and general accounting tasks, with a hands-on approach to month-end close and reporting.

You will work on invoicing, vendor payments, reconciliations, and liaise with the CPA on year-end activities while helping maintain accurate job costing across projects.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of bookkeeping, AR and AP experience.
• Experience in manufacturing, distribution or construction preferred.
• Familiarity with ERP systems and manufacturing software is a plus.
• Strong Excel skills and a solid understanding of general accounting principles.
• Knowledge of job costing, purchase orders, receiving docs and invoice matching.
• Ability to handle confidential financial and employee information with discretion.

Responsibilities

• Manage the full accounts receivable cycle, including invoicing completed and shipped jobs, posting customer payments, and maintaining accurate account balances.
• Monitor outstanding invoices, follow up with customers on past-due accounts, and maintain current customer statements.
• Manage the full accounts payable cycle, including entering vendor and material invoices, verifying invoices against purchase orders and receiving documents, and scheduling payments.
• Maintain accurate vendor records, including W-9 forms and 1099 information.
• Reconcile bank accounts and credit card statements monthly.
• Prepare and post journal entries and assist with month-end closing procedures and financial reporting.
• Coordinate with the company's CPA on year-end activities, sales and use tax filings, and audit-related requests.
• Support accurate job costing by ensuring material costs, outside services, and freight expenses are assigned to the appropriate jobs.

Established in 1968, Kenney Industries is a Dallas-based contract manufacturer specializing in CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, laser cutting, welding, and assembly. With a team of approximately 45 employees and more than 50 machines, we take pride in our quality workmanship, long-standing customer relationships, and close-knit, team-oriented culture.

We are seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Full-Charge Bookkeeper to take ownership of our day-to-day accounting operations and help keep our business running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

Accounts Receivable

Manage the full accounts receivable cycle, including invoicing completed and shipped jobs, posting customer payments, and maintaining accurate account balances.

Monitor outstanding invoices, follow up with customers on past-due accounts, and maintain current customer statements.

Qualifications

At least 3 years of bookkeeping, accounts receivable, and accounts payable experience.

Experience in manufacturing, distribution, or construction is strongly preferred.

Familiarity with ERP systems. Experience with M1 by ECi, JobBOSS, E2, or similar manufacturing systems is a plus.

Strong Excel skills and a solid understanding of general accounting principles.

Knowledge of job costing, purchase orders, receiving documentation, and invoice matching.

Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Comfortable communicating professionally with customers regarding outstanding balances and payment follow-up.

Ability to handle confidential financial and employee information with discretion.
