Job summary
Amazon in Suffolk, VA is seeking an Automation Engineer to maximize equipment reliability in our fulfillment centers. You will diagnose and troubleshoot complex control systems, analyze performance metrics, and drive continuous improvement of material handling equipment across conveyors, sortation, scanners, and cameras.
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, apply state-of-the-art technology, and support SCADA programs and networked controls to improve reliability and speed, directly
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or 2+ years of PLC programming/automation experience.
- Willingness to work flexible shifts including nights and weekends.
- Experience with PLC-controlled automation in process or production environments.
- Robotics work cells and control systems experience.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and troubleshoot automation systems critical to operations.
- Analyze performance metrics and drive continuous improvement.
- Support cross-functional teams with MHE control systems and SCADA.
- Provide first-level escalation support for site technicians.
- Interpret electrical and control drawings and program controls software.
