Job summary

Plug Power Inc. is seeking a Field Service Technician to install and service fuel cells in electric lift trucks at a Joliet, IL site. The role includes preventative maintenance, breakdown resolution, and reporting of incidents to ensure optimal system performance.

The candidate should have 3+ years in mechanical/electrical troubleshooting, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to lift 50 pounds. Travel and on-site customer interaction are key parts of the job.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with electrical coursework.
• 3+ years of mechanical and electrical troubleshooting experience.
• Valid driver license with clean driving record.
• Able to lift 50 pounds unassisted.
• Lift truck knowledge preferred.
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Strong communication and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance and service of fuel cells at customer sites.
• Diagnostics, troubleshooting, and fleet evaluations.
• Field retrofits and software/hardware upgrades.
• On-call and emergency customer support.
• Purchase tools, equipment, and parts as needed.
• Travel as required; adhere to traffic laws.
• Complete incident reports, service logs, and site documentation.
