Job summary

Plug Power Inc. is seeking a Field Service Technician for the Joliet, IL location to support fuel cell systems in electric lift trucks. You will perform preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and field retrofits, and service at customer sites.

The role requires strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, a valid driver's license, and the ability to lift 50 pounds. Travel is expected to meet business needs; you will report incidents and maintain service logs.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent with electrical coursework.
• Three or more years of direct mechanical and electrical troubleshooting experience.
• Valid driver license with clean driving record.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance and service of fuel cells at customer sites.
• Perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, and evaluations to maintain the fleet at a specific location.
• Perform specialized service procedures, including field retrofits and software and hardware upgrades to existing fuel cells.
• Provide on-call and emergency support service to customers as required.
• Purchase tools, equipment, and parts for customer service and support as required.
• Travel as required for business needs; drive safely and adhere to traffic laws.
• Represent Plug Power in a professional manner at all times and in all interactions.
• Complete administrative duties & documentation, including incident reports and service logs.
