Job summary

Aspire Bakeries in Hazleton, PA is seeking a Technician I, Food Safety & Quality Assurance to join our bakery team. You will conduct inspections, sampling, testing, and documentation to protect product quality and ensure compliance with Aspire Bakeries' Integrated Management System (AIMS).

This position requires adherence to GMPs, HACCP, preventive controls, and allergen controls. Strong communication and teamwork are essential as you support cross-functional safety initiatives.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
• Proficient computer skills (Outlook and Excel).
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and adapt to changing priorities.
• Strong communication, analytical, critical thinking, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. with or without accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Conduct food safety and quality verification activities to meet Aspire Bakeries standards and regulatory requirements.
• Perform product sampling, testing, inspections, and documentation per AIMS procedures.
• Identify, document, and elevate non-conformances and hold products when required.
• Verify adherence to GMPs, HACCP, preventive controls, allergen controls, sanitation, and food safety programs.
• Evaluate finished products through sensory and packaging assessments to ensure specs.
• Support cross-functional food safety initiatives and environmental monitoring.
• Promote a safe workplace by communicating safety concerns and supporting controls.
