Job summary

Baptist Health seeks a Nursing Assistant II for the Emergency Department in Lexington, KY. This part-time role supports ED teams, assists with patient care, specimen handling, and smooth department operations during 11a–11p shifts.

Applicants must have a High School Diploma or equivalent and Kentucky Nurse Aide Certification or progress in nursing school with clinical validation, plus BLS. Benefits include comprehensive health coverage and PTO options.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Current Kentucky Nurse Aide Certification required or completion of first year clinical nursing courses with validation.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Data entry and computer experience and/or phlebotomy, point of care testing experience preferred.

• Collects, processes, transports and analyzes specimens per laboratory policies.
• Demonstrates proficiency in patient care according to hospital policies.
• Maintains work area to ensure efficient operation and workflow.

Description:The Nursing Assistant II (Emergency Department Technician) functions within the multidisciplinary team that cares for the ED patient under the direction and supervision of the ED Registered Nurse.Demonstrates excellent communication and coordination of patient care/department flow.Working knowledge of appropriate computer functions and systems for assigned duties.Maintains work area to ensure efficient operation and workflow.Collects, process, transports and analyzes specimens according to approved standards of testing per laboratory policies and procedures.Demonstrates proficiency in patient care, according to hospital policies and procedures.Requirements:High School Diploma or equivalentCurrent Kentucky Nurse Aide Certification required or successful completion of first year clinical classes in nursing school and validation of a clinical consistent with level of education.Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
