Job summary

Kroger is seeking an enthusiastic associate to deliver outstanding customer service in Staunton, VA. You will help customers, maintain clean and safe departments, and contribute to achieving sales and profit goals while upholding quality standards.

You will answer questions about products, keep shelves stocked, monitor temperatures and freshness, and follow safety regulations. Prior retail experience and multilingual ability are a plus.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Promote trust and respect among associates, with a positive attitude.
• Create an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important and appreciated by answering questions regarding products and store services.
• Gain and maintain knowledge of products sold within the department and respond to questions and make suggestions about products.
• Inform customers of frozen food specials and recommend items to meet their needs.
• Check product quality to ensure freshness; review sell by dates and take appropriate action.
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise.
• Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
• Stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads.
• Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers and maintain temperature logs.
• Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identifying unsafe conditions.
• Practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and notifying management of repairs.
• Notify management of customer or employee accidents and report safety risks or illegal activity.
• Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.
