Job summary

InteCare is seeking a full-time staff member to support the SSVF program at the Veterans Service Center in Indianapolis. The role focuses on frontline access for Veterans, including walk-in support, hotline coverage, and eligibility screening, ensuring timely connections to housing and services.

The position requires strong knowledge of community resources, excellent communication skills, and reliable transportation.

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of community resources.
• Excellent writing and interpersonal skills; leadership abilities.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
• Excellent communication skills with individuals in distress.
• Proficient with cell phones, other electronic equipment and social media.
• Valid Indiana Driver’s License and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Manage SSVF Toll Free referral line during business hours and provide in-person support at the Veteran Service Center.
• Assist Veterans with intake, eligibility screening, and referrals to intake queue or community resources.
• Serve as backup to Intake Coordinator during absences; support eligibility screening and HMIS review.
• Coordinate walk-in coverage and hotline responsibilities to ensure timely Veteran access.
• Collect and document Veteran information and program eligibility; orient Veterans to SSVF.
