Job summary

Burlington Stores is seeking a Shortage Control Associate to help maintain a secure shopping environment while delivering excellent customer service. The role emphasizes prevention, vigilance, and friendly engagement with customers and associates at store entrances and high-risk areas.

You will support shortage reduction programs, report incidents to the Manager on Duty, and train teammates on safety practices. Part-time hours are available with associate discounts and flexible scheduling.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in customer service, hospitality, retail, Asset Protection, Loss Prevention, or Operations is preferred.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and to visually monitor store environment.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality is required.
• Ability to review, analyze and comprehend business trends.
• Ability to exhibit a positive demeanor, strong posture, and energetic greeting.
• Ability to work in a fast paced, high-pressure environment with detailed focus and disciplined decision making.

Responsibilities

• Monitor entrances and exits to reduce theft opportunities and maintain safety.
• Identify and report theft incidents and suspicious subjects to Manager on Duty.
• Provide confident, friendly, energetic greetings to customers and associates.
• Support shortage reduction programs and train new associates as needed.
• Collaborate with store leadership to uphold security standards throughout shifts.
