Job summary

R1 RCM Inc. is seeking a Patient Access Representative at LifePoint Wilson Medical Center in North Carolina. You will be the first point of contact, ensuring rapid, compassionate registration and accurate information capture across multiple systems.

This PRN role offers on-call hours with minimum monthly commitments (48 hours) and on-site work. You will collaborate with care teams to smooth patient flow, collect co-pays, and provide cost estimates while upholding high service standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with patient access or front desk is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service and assist patients and families with the check-in process across multiple computer systems.
• Answer phones and gather accurate patient information quickly in a fast-paced environment.
• Support timely access to care by minimizing delays in registration and answering questions with confidence, clarity and compassion.
• Build trust with patients during moments when they may be ill, anxious, confused, or overwhelmed.
• Navigate diverse insurance plans and coverage details, enter demographics and medical data, collect co-pays and provide cost estimates when applicable.
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and care teams to ensure smooth patient flow.
