Job summary

R1 RCM is hiring a Patient Service Representative (Registration) for on-site work at Intermountain McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden, UT. You will be the first contact for patients, ensuring fast, compassionate access to care through multiple computer systems.

You will register demographics, collect information, and provide cost estimates while collaborating with clinicians to keep patient flow smooth. A high school diploma or GED is required, with healthcare front desk experience a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience with patient access, medical registration, insurance verification, or front desk is a plus.
• Ability to pass background check, drug test, and vaccination requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service and assist patients and families with check-in across multiple computer systems to register efficiently.
• Answer phones and gather accurate patient information quickly in a fast-paced environment.
• Support timely access to care by minimizing delays in registration and answering questions with confidence, clarity, and compassion.
• Build trust with patients during moments when they may be ill, anxious, confused, or overwhelmed.
• Navigate diverse insurance plans and coverage details, enter demographics and medical data, collect co-pays and provide cost estimates when applicable.
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and care teams to ensure smooth patient flow.
